The lavender plant has been used for more than 2500 years and is very appreciated for its therapeutic properties well known ever since Antiquity. The name “lavender” comes from the latin word “lavare” which means “washing”. The old Persians , Greeks and Romans used to add lavender flowers into their bathing water to wash and purify both body and soul. Even nowadays we are using lavender oil bath salts or add just a few drops of lavender essential oil and sea salt into our bathing water to clean our aura from negative energies.

The lavender plant is well known for its calming, disinfecting, antimycotic and anti-inflammatory properties. Hildegard von Bingen, the Benedictine nun, used to write in her books dedicated to healing plants that “Lavander is able to heal and purify both spirit and body, clarifies thinking underlining the fact that the one who knows how to make use of this plant, finds harmony and peace and all his negative thoughts and feelings vanish.
In addition to its medical and therapeutical properties, Lavander has a lot of practical uses in a household: protects clothing from moth, is a great anti mosquito repellent, is able to clean textiles from fat stains, disinfects clothing, purifies and freshens rooms.
